Jordan Reduction Solutions tire shredders
Tire shredding is in high demand as more governments prohibit the disposal of tires in landfill. There is a high demand and profit for shredded tires, whether in tire chip form or crumb rubber. Jordan’s complete line of tire shredders and tire processing equipment produces tire chips, tire shreds and crumb rubber for disposal, recycling or biofuel production.
Basic tire shredding: High-torque, dual-shaft shredders rotate at relatively low speed and use qualifying screens to control chip size. The PT-6000 model has a capacity of 6,000 pounds per hour at a two-inch chip size and can handle passenger and light pick-up truck and SUV tires. The MS-5040 model can process larger truck tires.
Unlike other systems, the bead doesn’t need to be removed first. The rugged design and hardened knives of Jordan shredders allow the whole tire to be processed at once.
Tire derived aggregate (TDA) is used in civil engineering applications such as sub-grade fill and embankments, backfill for walls and bridge abutments, sub-grade insulation for roads, landfill projects, septic system drain fields, and as feed stock for crumb rubber products.
Fabricated products are made from cutting parts of tires to use for other purposes, such as the base for traffic cones or to build blasting mats.
Fine shredding/grinding: By adding a Jordan Reduction Solutions rubber grinder to the main shredder, you can achieve smaller particle sizes, all the way down to crumb rubber or powder. The shredder starts the reduction process by reducing the material to uniform strips. The strips are then fed by conveyors to the high-speed grinder, which reduces the material to crumb rubber or powder. This process uses a large, high-speed cylinder body and a finer screen to achieve the desired particle size and separate the wire from the fine rubber.
Crumb is used to create many products including landscaping mulch, athletic tracks, non-slip pavers for patios, walkways and playgrounds and synthetic turf fields. Crumb rubber is also added to asphalt road mix to make roads that are quieter, shed water better and last longer, and as raw material in the manufacture of molded products such as engine components, subflooring and mouse pads.
